Preimplantation Genetic Screening

Increase Healthy Pregnancies

PGS is a genetic test performed on embryos to identify numerical chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy). This test is performed on embryos before transfer to the uterus by analyzing all embryos generated in an IVF treatment cycle. Those free of chromosomal aneuploidy can be selectively transferred. As a result, the pregnancy rates per transfer are significantly increased, and the miscarriage rates decreased.

Who is it for?

Pre-implantation genetic screens (PGS) enable the selection of embryos with a normal number of chromosomes, increasing the efficiency of IVF for all couples, including those with:

  • Two or more unsuccessful IVF cycles
  • Multiple miscarriages in the past
  • Previous pregnancies with chromosomal abnormalities
  • Balanced structural chromosomal rearrangements in parental DNA

Why Preimplantation Genetic Screening

  • Greater implantation rates and improved IVF clinical outcomes.

  • Mitigates several reproductive challenges

  • Allows for single embryo transfers

Benefits of Preimplantation Genetic Screening

World Genetics uses next generation sequencing, providing results with high accuracy and a very low false positive rate. We provide training for embryo biopsy, or we can come to IVF clinic and perform biopsy.

  • Increases pregnancy rates per transfer

  • Reduction in miscarriage rate

  • Increase in the likelihood of having a healthy baby

  • Reduces the time required in order to get pregnant

  • Reduces risk of multiple pregnancy
